Certification
ARP 4754 describes “the objective of the certification process is to substantiate that the aircraft and its systems comply with applicable airworthiness requirements.” For safety and mission-critical software, hardware and test systems, development assurance methods are used as part of the evidence to support system certification.
CertTech provides customers with training and consulting support for certification of software and hardware systems to certification authorities. CertTech has significant experience in DO-178B for airborne software and DO-254 for complex electronic hardware, but also has experience in development and execution of validation protocols for FDA-regulated systems, as well as test systems for military components.
Additionally, RTCA DO-178B describes the SQA process as :”assesses the software life cycle processes and their outputs to obtain assurance that the objectives are satisfied, that deficiencies are detected, evaluated, tracked and resolved, and that the software product and software life cycle data conform to certification requirements.”
